An inclusive education system is a way of thinking and acting that demonstrates acceptance and belonging for all students – regardless of their backgrounds, needs or abilities. As a parent, you have a choice in the learning environment for your ward with special education needs. The inclusion is planned such that students can learn and adapt to life skills given opportunity, effective teaching and appropriate resources.
Inclusive learning is more than just being with their peers – it’s about participating, belonging, being engaged in the learning process. In order to support the learning needs of all students, a progressive programme of learning is planned with
• specially designed IPPs and differentiated instruction to meet individual needs
• learning aids and resources to ensure optimal learning.
Supporting Your ward’s Individualized Program Plan (IPP): Supporting the success of all students is a responsibility that’s shared with parents and staff members. Working together, we can help students overcome their challenges, build on their strengths and realize their potential. Implementation of strategies will be discussed on a regular basis on how parents can support our efforts to help their wards thrive in inclusive environments not only at school, but also in their life outside the classroom.
