Work incursions into private time and space have become a source of frustration and friction for many. To be productive at work, yet maintain stability and peace of mind at home is not as difficult as it seems. How do we maintain that?
Make a list of tasks to do for the day. This helps you to manage your time accordingly. When you plan your work for the day keep some ‘me time’ for yourself and remember not to overwork yourself. Set small targets and see that you finish your work on time. This will make you less stressed and relaxed.Spending quality time with family and friends, religious or spiritual activity, self-care, including nutrition, exercise, and a supportive spouse or partner serve as key factors in balancing work and life.
List leisure activities you enjoy. You have the freedom to choose when, how and where you schedule your activities. It could be singing together with friends or colleagues or watching a movie together with family. To maximize satisfaction and output, stay focused on the present by segregating your activities according to priority.
Achieving a positive work-life balanceis a process. Practice keeping to your choices and be a ‘HAPPY YOU’
